This morning Chloe had a visit from both portage and the physiotherapist. The physiotherapist brought some gaitors along, these are supports to help keep Chloe’s legs straight and help strengthen the knee joints, whilst Chloe is learning to stand up.

Standing Practice

Initially we are only aiming to do 1 or 2 minutes each day, but this practice will hopefully enable Chloe to start standing up in the future and be more mobile. Chloe wore them this morning for about 5 minutes, before wanting them off, I guess not being able to bend your legs is a strange feeling.

As well as having these supports on Chloe’s legs, Chloe also tried standing up against the settee in the lounge. We all thought Chloe did extremely well, as just to prove us all wrong Chloe decided to also try and lift her head as well, as in the photo below.

Mummy is going to try these gaitors each morning with Chloe now and have hopefully 1 or 2 minutes stood up against the settee, hopefully improving Chloe’s ability to stand and straighten her legs.
